From mid-year, all new cars in Australia will have a black box installed to record vehicle data in the event of a crash.


All new cars in Australia will be required to have an ‘Event Data Recorder’ (EDR) as a standard feature from July 2024, thanks to the United Nations’ World Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations – of which Australia is a signatory.
