Five cars were destroyed in a blaze at Sydney Airport after a luxury car battery ignited in a parking lot on Monday night.
Flames engulfed the electric vehicle and spread to consume four others before firefighters arrived at 8.30pm.
The lithium-ion battery had recently been detached from the luxury vehicle and was being stored close by in the same parking lot on Airport Dr in Mascot, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said on Tuesday.
